Sign out of every device
How to end every session at once when a device is lost or you think someone else has been in your account.
What it does
Signing out everywhere invalidates every token issued to your account, on every device, immediately. Phones, tablets, browsers, the installed app, anything still signed in anywhere. The next request any of them makes is refused and they are returned to the sign in page.
Where
Under Security, choose Sign out of all devices. You will be signed out on this device too, which is the point.
Changing your password does the same thing
A password change signs out every other session as a matter of course. If you suspect somebody has had access, change the password rather than only signing out: ending their session is no use if they can simply sign in again.
When to use it
- A phone or laptop is lost or stolen.
- You signed in on a machine that is not yours and are not certain you signed out.
- Your audit log shows a sign in from somewhere you have never been.
- You have just removed someone's access to a shared device.
Your vaults are not affected
Signing out changes nothing about your vaults. Armed vaults stay armed and their clocks keep running. This matters: if you sign out everywhere and then cannot get back in, a deadline is still approaching. Make sure you have your password and either your authenticator or a backup code before you do it.
