Choose what you are told about
Turn individual emails and push notifications on or off, and understand which ones you should never turn off.
Where
Under Notifications in your account. Each kind of message has its own switch. Push is turned on or off per device, and follows the same switches.
What is available
- Check in reminders — the 75 and 90 percent warnings on every armed vault, by email and push.
- Vault deliveries — sent to you when one of your vaults has been delivered, by email and push.
- Security alerts — password changes, two factor changes, new sign in locations.
- Product updates — occasional notes about new features. Off by default.
Push notifications
Push is switched on for each device separately, under Browser notifications with Turn on for this device, and the device has to allow it when asked. Send a test confirms it is working. Android and desktop browsers can do this from a normal tab, though installing the app makes reminders easier to act on. On iPhone and iPad, push needs iOS 16.4 or later and only works from the home screen version, not from a Safari tab — see installing the app.
Push is worth setting up for anything with a short interval, where an emailed reminder may arrive minutes before delivery and sit unread.
The two to leave alone
Check in reminders are the only automatic warning before a vault delivers. Turning them off on a live vault removes your safety net entirely.
Security alerts are how you find out that somebody else changed something. They are rare and they matter.
What cannot be turned off
Email address confirmations and password reset links. They are responses to something you asked for rather than notifications, so they always send.
If nothing is arriving
Check your spam folder first, then add our sending address to your contacts, then confirm the address on your Profile is one you read. Your audit log records reminders when they are sent, which tells you whether the problem is at our end or in your inbox.
