File types, sizes and storage limits

How much space

• Free — 100MB
• Basic — 1GB
• Pro — 10GB
• Lifetime — 10GB

The figure is your total across all files. There is no separate per file cap: a single 9GB file on a Pro account is fine, provided nothing else is stored.

What is refused

Executable and script types are blocked. That covers exe, bat, cmd, com, msi, scr, dll, jar, sh and the other shells, ps1, vbs, js, hta, reg, lnk, app, dmg, pkg, deb, rpm, and the server side scripting types php, asp, aspx, jsp, cgi, pl, py and rb.

This is not a judgement about your file. It is that a file store which accepts executables becomes a place to host malware, and a file store which accepts server side scripts can become a way to attack the server itself.

The way round it

Put the file in a zip archive and upload that. Archives are accepted, nothing inside them is inspected, and the contents arrive intact at the other end. This is not a loophole we are unaware of: an archive cannot be executed by a web server the way a loose script can, which is the risk the block exists to remove.

Everything else is fine

Documents, spreadsheets, PDFs, images, video, audio, archives, source code as text, key files, password exports, plain text. If it is not on the blocked list, it uploads.

Remember how delivery works

Storage and delivery are different numbers. You may store gigabytes, but a vault's delivery email carries about 9MB of attachments, and anything larger is delivered as a download link in the same email. See attaching files to a vault for how that works.

When you run out of space

Uploads are refused with a message naming your limit. Nothing already stored is touched, and no vault stops working. Delete what you no longer need, or move up a plan; extra space is available immediately after payment.
